Welcome Back, Winter 2018!
Chemical Engineering is very excited welcome all students to the new calendar year.
Chemical Engineering is very excited welcome all students to the new calendar year.
Chemical engineers continue to invent and optimize methods for extracting energy from oil (petro), natural gas and coal. 80% of the world's energy comes from these fuels.
Chemical engineers use CHEMISTRY, OTHER SCIENCES and MATH to IMPROVE the quality of life by inventing, optimizing, and economizing NEW TECHNOLOGIES and PRODUCTS.
Chemical engineering is a global profession. Our Global Engineering Outreach (GEO) clubs and course at BYU work to improve the quality of lif of developing communities through engineering. Projects include building efficient stoves that reduce pollution, water purification, and washing machines. These projects recently took place in Peru.
Approximately 80% of our undergraduate students work in our labs. These students strongly contribute to cutting edge research in a number of areas. Many of these students are authors and coauthors on archival publications. Around 25% of our students go on to graduate school.
